  • This place is always great. Delicious food, very friendly and attentive service. I believe our server was Joy tonight according to the check. She was excellent!

  • My wife and I have been looking for a good Asian restaurant in the east end of Louisville for some time. Let me tell ya, there are not very many good Asian restaurants around us. So we stopped at a Simply Thai to give them a try. We started with the Satay appetizer. This appetizer was marinated grilled chicken skewers served with a peanut sauce (butter) and a cucumber sauce. The marinated grilled chicken was very tasty and most likely we will be ordering it again. My wife enjoyed the chicken Basil Entrée which arrived with simmered onions, red and green bell peppers in a Thai basil sauce with jasmine rice. This was a very large serving. So, if you're not too hungry, make sure you get a take-out container. I had the Herbed Pork Loin which was marinated and somewhat tender. The pork was sliced and served with a very large helping of cilantro rice and a garlic sweet and sour dipping sauce. The breading/crust of the pork was somewhat crunchy and just not to my liking. The portion was somewhat small and some 1/3 of the plate came with chopped lettuce to fill out the plate. The restaurant has a large offering of sprits and non-alcoholic drinks. We had wine with our meal. The pours were regular amounts, nothing to write home about. The decor of the restaurant is very Asian and sets the mood for Thai food. If you haven't tried Thai food, I would suggest starting with a temperature level of no more than two. We will be back again to Simply Thai. Most likely I will try something different, but most likely my wife will go with the Basil dish again. Enjoy!

  • Had to try some Thai in our area and I had heard from a fellow foodie to check out “Simply Thai” in Middletown. This location was easy to get too, easy to park, and the restaurant is nice and clean with a fun tropical theme to it. The staff were young, but courteous, timely and attentive. My wife has actually visited Thailand twice, and she was impressed with the menu selection and authenticity of our dishes taste and her sweet peach boba tea that she had. Which although the large tea was $7, it was VERY good, and I’ve had many a southern sweet tea too. She said that it reminded her of the tea in Thailand, some of the best she’s ever had! And we travel a lot. We had just one appetizer, the “curry puffs” (picture taken). Which were very good, enough to share for two. And although their food does not look like much, they are power packed with flavor! The curry puffs were sweet, crunchy, and the cucumber dip was very good. Highly recommended, I bet the “satay” appetizer is also delicious; we will have to try that another time. For the main dish, we each ordered the Chicken Pad Thai, at a spicy 2 (picture included). Again, the dish does not look like much and the portion was MASSIVE! Enough to make an Italian eatery blush. Honestly, me and my wife could have split it between the two of us, but hey, left overs are good too! Beware, I would consider spicy level 2 to be at the highest “spice” that most people could probably still find palatable but any hotter and your tongue will be in for a lava treatment. Unless you are into that, but if it’s your first time eating Thai food, stick to 0-2 in spicy. They will also give free samples of their spices to taste and choose which one you would like too. Their menu was good, with many many options to add toppings, change meat to seafood to Tofu and even adding ingredients a plenty. They have multiple vegan and gluten free dishes and offerings too. However, regarding their menu, you can also customize your dishes if you wish, but some of the additional toppings were expensive. Such as adding olive oil to your dish is an extra $1.50, or others seemed a tad bit odd. I did rate the restaurant as a 4/5 because I am honest and don’t like to hand out too many 5/5s. The reasons why I rated this 4/5 was because of a few reasons: 1. Seating in the booths was uncomfortable, with the bottom of the booths falling off or unglued every time I shifted I felt like it might slide off. Not the end of the world, but they should fix those ASAP. 2. Their drink menu leaves more to be desired. Such as more beer options, more soda options, or having sugar free options. 3. The Pad Thai was served way too hot! Not the “spice”, but the actual temperature of the noodles was borderline scolding. So much of it we had to wait to eat, or blow on them to cool them down. But once the temp went down after 10 mins, it was easier and more enjoyable to eat. 4. A better dessert menu could use improvement. Such as maybe frozen yogurt options or some sort of a chocolate delectable would be nice. But they only have sweet rice and a deep fried banana. I know most Thai restaurants don’t have much for dessert, but it could make for a fun way to differentiate themselves from their competition. Check it out! It is good food! I hope they see my recommendations and consider solutions if they so choose too!

  • Ate here, the other day. Was not disappointed. Between the sushi roll and the entree, I was very impressed. Good service. Great atmosphere. Well stocked bar. If you're in the area and want a good meal, stop in here. You won't be let down.

  • Loved my lunch here I have ordered for red curry with bamboo shoots, chicken and tofu. It was yum…yum..yum For appetizers, if one needs to have a crispy and delicious starter Tempura Shrimp is something you should go for. And I really don’t want to forget the Thai’s authentic pad Thai ..it’s yum too with crunchy peanut pieces in there All I am happy about my food is the calories though they look huge they maintain the balance in calories

  • Posting a review mainly to share the Happy Hour information, which I couldn't find elsewhere. The select cocktails included the margaritas, mules, Cosmo Boba, Samui something, and the Thai coffee, if I remember correctly. The half price cocktails and discounted non-sushi items are definitely worth it during Happy Hour. (The sushi is still good, but less of a discount in comparison.) We pretty much only go for Happy Hour and on Mondays. I'm not sure if ToastTab is new for them, but with three of us eating there, the rewards program is nice; we've earned $26 off in rewards total already. It keeps us coming back to use our rewards. We tend to like all the food we get, but beware that soupy/broth-y items like the basil entree (pictured) are much spicier at the same level than the creamier curries. The curries that say they aren't spicy/are mild are pretty sweet; the pineapple curry tastes more like a dessert than a meal. Not to say it tastes bad, but it might surprise people if they don't expect it. I personally like the interior decorations and the salt water fish tank at the front. We've never had bad servers, but service is definitely slow and we consistently run out of water. Considering I tend to eat with people who love spicy food, not having water refilled can be an issue. Perhaps they could start leaving pitchers of water on the table for 3+ people, especially if they are low on staff?
